Thank you! A few days after completing cleaning this hide, a woman saw it hanging out to dry, and asked me if I would take a commission to tan some hides for her, for decorative purposes. I told her that I need to gain more experience before I would feel right about that, but the offer was very encouraging, and she is willing to wait.

Khthelegend, thanks for your visit. It is hard to know how to take your comment, but I choose to think of it as a compliment. ;-)

That's entirely possible, John. There are still energies, spirits, or something (I'm not entirely sure what yet) hanging about in that closet. It's just that the great, repelling blackness is gone.

I solved part of the mystery several days after writing this post, and Scooby Doo didn't even help! ;-) I've yet to put this post up (it's half-written), but I did some spiritual clean-out in the pantry, which is just across the wall from this closet. In there, I found mega darknesses, of several varieties, and - I had to laugh at my simplicity when I recognized this - one of them was the being from the clothes closet. He'd just bounced through the wall and found somewhere else to hide as I took the dresses down.
